ABOUT THE COMPANY

THE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY CENTER

Plant
The Alternative Energy Technology Center designs technology solutions for renewable transportation fuels. Cellulosic transportation fuels will contribute significantly to America's energy security. Our technology makes tomorrow's energy goals achievable today by producing cost efficient transportation fuels from common non-food biomass.
The Company's research and development center in the Woodlands, Texas provides an advanced development and testing platform for the implementation of multiple green fuel technologies.
These core technologies deliver significant value beyond the alternative energy space. We will actively develop derivative technologies with our commercialization partners.

MERIDIAN BIOREFINING

Plant
Meridian Biorefining, Inc. is our wholly owned operating subsidiary. Meridian processes biomass into alternative fuels like ethanol, gasoline and diesel and can also produce polymers, chemicals and biocrude oil. Most competitors use technologies designed to produce a single end product - ethanol or biodiesel.
Meridian builds on the integrated processing model of oil refineries by taking the entire biological value of its feed-stocks and producing a wide range of end products. This maximizes output, eliminates waste products and increases profits to the refining operation.
We like to say we are . . .
"5 Million Years Ahead of the Oil Industry!"
Nature takes plant molecules and, over millions of years, creates oil. From that oil refineries produce fuels, plastics and chemicals. Biorefining does the same thing with the same molecules - we just skip the 5 million year process of turning it into oil first.

NEWS

"To build a future of energy security, we must trust in the creative genius of American researchers and entrepreneurs and empower them to pioneer a new generation of clean energy technology."
George W. Bush
"In short, the oil age may end within a generation given the present economic picture, with potentially dire consequences."
U.S. Army War College
Where energy is concerned, the "Sputnik moment" has long since come and gone. The project of freeing the American economy from oil dependence arguably deserves the same priority the moon mission enjoyed 40 years ago, speaking as it does to a far more central national interest, and it is worthwhile considering why the results achieved to date have been so modest.
